Am I A Cartoon Character?

DSC_6240 - Version 3

I often get interrupted when I am spending quality time with the dogs – giving them back scratches, petting them, playing and tickling them. These interruptions always come in the form of a question with emphasis on the sixth word.

“Do you have to use that voice?” he asks.

You see, I have many characters in my head and I like giving their words a voice. But more than that, I like to shake it up by giving them cartoon voices. Yes, cartoon voices.

One of the characters populating my mind is a little child who has his very first puppy. That’s how I often talk to my dogs. Well, I should say that it’s the character in my mind speaking to the dogs in that voice. I know, it gets confusing.

Only one person has heard me use that voice. His perspective is well described by his repeated interruptions.

I don’t do it to push his buttons. I’m just being myself.

Wait, what am I saying – that I’m a cartoon character?
