The Orchard Comes of Age

It was a very good gardening year.

The other day, I wrote about the successes of the herb garden in terms of expansion and productivity. I can report that these characteristics, expansion and productivity, are also applicable to the orchard.

The orchard continues to expand year after year. Since the publication of the post describing the dozen orchard dwellers, a new variety of grapes called Vanessa came to grace our orchard. A few specimens, such as the pear tree and sour cherry tree, seem to have undergone tremendous growth spurts this year.

While the orchard is still very young, it has begun producing small harvests. In fact, the orchard has reached a milestone this growing season.

Belles illustrations. Merci Stefan.
