Bird Watching

I never thought bird watching could be so relaxing and peaceful.
In fact bird watching took me out of this world while I was in my own backyard. There were two woodpeckers on the apple tree this morning. I think they were courting… well, I’m sure they were. After being mesmerized by them for a few minutes, I realized I didn’t have my camera with me.
I quickly went inside the house to grab my camera to capture these beautiful birds. I was hoping they would still be there on the apple tree when I came back but knew the chances of this happening were low.
You see, I have tried to photograph birds in my backyard before, but every time I have the camera with me, there are no birds around. But when I don’t have my camera with me, the birds are all over the apple tree, courting… or maybe laughing at me.
This time, it was different, the birds were still there when I came back. They were even done laughing at me and were back to courting.

I am glad the woodpeckers were still there when you got your camera. My interest in birds is greater than my interest in catching them in film – I wold hang around and keep watching without the camera. However, I agree, it is fun when you can also take a picture!
Merci Carlos.
