Tight and Taut

Bolt on pedestrian bridge in Ernest Thompson Seton Park, Toronto

I always thought myself a writer

lacking voice or so I thought
My prose I wanted to be lighter
stringing words to hit the spot

Lexicon thrown in the grinder
hope is found in words all wrought
Text in cadence, I aim higher
bounce and lilt is what I got

A poet’s pen I had to barter
rhyming terms I thought I ought
I squeezed the words and used a miter
making verse so tight and taut

My muse’s voice I now decipher
rhapsodist – that is my lot
I found my niche and I am wiser
in the lyric school of thought

Another muse poem? : – ) Love the pix, and love the way you used pix of bolts, fastenings, and fencing to go with a poem titled “Tight and Taut.”
