Windows of Opportunity

Reflections in windows on rue de la Commune in Montréal 2011-05-30

We are all presented with windows of opportunity from time to time. It is up to us to recognize them and seize the moment.

Some would say that I am lucky. I have also described myself as lucky now and again. While luck can play a role in our lives, I see luck as merely bringing windows of opportunity. One has to recognize these opportunities and act on them.

Sometimes, the window of opportunity throws reflections that can make you see things differently. At other times, the window of opportunity may be decorated with a flower-box offering you the chance to stop and smell the flowers. And once in a while, a real succession of windows, or a wall of windows of opportunity present themselves to you.

Awesome shots! That single building is really cool. I like the first shot. It’s like it shows two sides of one coin. A grungy run down side in stark contrast to the green and lush plants reflected in the windows. Perfectly illustrates your point IMO.

I love shooting windows–this is a very nice series and an excellent narrative accompanying it.
