Tranquility

Orange sky in the Port Lands, Toronto

It’s becoming a form of meditation: every so often, I wake up very early and set out before dawn. There is something restorative about experiencing the tranquility and the cool of early morning.

I am noticing myself getting up early more often since I began making images. Of course, being able to watch the onset of daylight is a reward for getting up so early. But beyond the magical quality of morning light, there is something else that rising early offers: your own special time.

I relish this time. It’s quiet and peaceful. It helps me be still.

Very pretty. Morning is extremely peaceful with most people still sleeping and there is still a hush in the air.

Early mornings are majestic. They’re all beautiful pictures. My favorite picture is the telephone pole because of the depth, the texture, and the rich golden colour.
