Yelling Yellow

Graffiti on Bellevue Avenue, Toronto 2011-03-02

It’s about yellow, the colour. It jumped out several times lately, brightly and loudly. Could seeing yellow everywhere be a symptom of spring cravings?

Yellow fire hydrants are nothing special, but when a hydrant stands on its toes in front of a white and blue wall, it makes a picture. The touch of melting snow is there to remind you it’s still winter.

Not far from the hydrant, a yellow poster proclaimed that meditation is for everyone. Isn’t there always a funny distraction that happens at meditation courses? For example: the ruckus made by the candy that spills out of the pocket of the person next to you. Perhaps they were little yellow candies in the shape of bananas like the ones sold at the fancy candy shop on Danforth Avenue.

Not far away, another store had a groovy window display with boxes, a few of them yellowish. But, this didn’t appear to be enough yellow. Graffiti were in fact yelling yellow. Yes, YELLOW. Sorry, that must be the spring cravings acting up again.
