Facial Expressions

The expressions on faces provide endless hours of study. They can tell a story, pull your strings, or make you smile.

For example, take the facial expressions of people at work; these can catch your eye if you think of those who enjoy the spotlight. Imagine a blue eyed juggler wearing a green hat… what sort of expressions would he make tossing his white juggling balls? How about a silver haired clown making balloon artistry; what sort of face would she make? Suppose you walked by an Italian Espresso Bar and the owner was begging you to take his picture. What sort of expression would you expect as he gestures thumbs up?

Mesmerizing facial expressions can also be found in sculptures made by gifted artists able to freeze a look in their art. Imagine a statue of an old man walking with his horse and monkey. Does the look on his face suggest a story? Consider the statue of a corpulent businessman looking up at the sky. Does his expression pull your strings?
